Work

Jim has been a certified specialist in estate planning and probate law by the Supreme Court of South Carolina since the inception of this specialty area. He focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning, probate administration and litigation pertaining to probate and trust matters.

In his probate litigation work, Jim has successfully challenged wills which were affected by incapacity/or undue influence and he has also successfully defended wills which had been challenged by heirs. 

Jim has over 53 years’ experience representing clients in estate planning and probate administration. His client list is long and varied. He enjoys assisting clients and derives great satisfaction from helping people.

Meet Jim

Jim enjoys reading, playing tennis and regular trips to the South Carolina coast, where he and his wife, Dot, have a vacation home. They also enjoy traveling and most particularly, trips to New Orleans for the annual Jazz Fest.

Jim and Dot have three children, all of whom own businesses in Spartanburg. He has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
